I have experimented using Color Efex Pro with this image, applying several filters to the sky, rocks and sand.
And then bringing back some of the original image (the -1 bracket) by adding a layer mask and brushing through gradually.
I also used unusual brackets....+1 -1 and -4.

I look nice color effect. I measures the ends of the horizon at the bottom of the photo and measure the same. May have an optical illusion that the two halves are inclined towards the base of the lighthouse.

One more note Mitch,you might not want to jump from -1 to -4,too much light information missing.Your max spacing should be 2ev.An example would be +1/-1,-3.Just a thought...
