Individual bracketed images were merged to 32-bit TIFFs in Photomatix 5. 32-bit TIFFs stitched using Photoshop CS6. LR5 used to compress the 32-bit TIFF to 16-bit TIFF to produce a "natural" result. Photomatix 5 used to tonemap the 32-bit file. Tonemap and "natural" images blended in Photoshop CS6. Final adjustments in LR5.

Fort Rock is a "tuff ring"- a volcanic formation, located in the Central Basin of Oregon. The rock is horse-shoe shaped- about 200 feet high and a bit under 1 mile in diameter. We went on a very windy day, lucky I have a tank of a tripod. I went with a four-shot vertical pano. Was shooting with my now retired D70s. Multilple images was a way of increasing the pixel number- plus, I liked the effect.

I just read your post, but nothing to criticise here in a perfect shot.
