Great ide, but you need to adjust the light on the feather. I have taken a lot of shots of fishingflies that I have made, and know how dificult the light can be. If you gona succideed you have to softhen the light,

This is a nice idea, but there is just too much wash out of the details in the center area of the feather. A bit more contrast would have helped a lot.
