Really trying to put as much variety into my photography as possible, and learn how to get the best out of different subjects.
I know some may the subject is too central, I tried cropping either side of it and it just didn't look right.
So I decided to keep it central. First attempt at this sort of thing may try it again.

Great shot, nice bokeh. I think the focus around the edges of the dandelion is just a little off. Great image

Yeah I totally agree about the edges being slightly out of focus. I used an F-stop of 4.0 (is this right), and like I said this type of photography is new to me. Any help/advice would be most welcome.

Nicely done mitch, the danelion is very sharp in the middle and softer towards the edges, but macro is very hard to keep the focus right.

Maybe using F/16 upwards would give you better details and sharpness but what you have done is great.

To begin with this type of subject, is not nothing wrong.

Nice focal plane. Central subject nice and sharp.

Superb post Mitch, these little things are very sensitive to the slightest breeze so it would be extremely hard to keep it all perfectly sharp. Longer lens with perhaps f7/8 but that also depends on the distance of subject to background to maintain bokeh.
