The trains were introduced in my country by the British, it is evident the station model,
If we compare this station with Karl's post "Aberdour Station":
http://hdrcreme.com/photos/39513-Aberdour-Station
Unfortunately the only similarity is the architecture, because as you can see, the abandonment of Colon (Columbus) Station contrasts with the well kept that the Aberdour.
In its golden days knew to have an intense life, but in a decade of 80 in Latin America there was a fever Neo Liberal the economic sphere and tried to sell state enterprises.
To justify the need to sell, consciously left to decay, in this case the railroad company, so it was that on Saturday January 2, 1988 ran the last passenger train, circulating only freight trains.
On January 11, 1993, 5 years and 9 days after removal, a regular passenger service did flow... but it was not the same, a reduced service, without maintenance of roads make it deficit..
Colon Station is a sad witness to this infamy.

avrei preferito che inquadrassi tutti i pali della pensilina ma รจ molto bella comunque!
I love this image Ricardo. I am struck by how similar it looks to my 'Aberdour Station' post. Obviously, the influence of the old'British Empire' extended very far...
