  • Notes I tried tone mapping in Photomatix and it came out rather unsuccessful, due to the clouds trailing on long exposures. The only usable tone mapped areas was areas in the clouds and that of the foreground rocks. The rest was manually layer masked and tone mapped in photoshop. Namaste

I received my 10 stop neutral density filter today. Did this exposure over 5 minutes and 30 seconds. 5 different exposures of 1s,4,15s,60s,4mins. Will be my last post on here for a while. Heading out.

For some strange reason I immediately recognise your shots that were taken in NZ. ;) I really like the cloud-like soft look of the sea against the rocks. I wondered if this was the best crop?

This is actually the whole frame just before the poor 600D almost got soaked. Tides move in quick around here :D I guess you have a feeling for your home country :) Namaste

Beautiful image, I like it and I agree that it would be even better with the suggested crop.

Outstanding image. Love the way the 10 stop filter does this. Watermark spoils it slightly though....would be be better @ 20/40% transparency..
