While in Istanbul, I stopped by the magnificent Hagia Sophia, which was an amazing space. It was dedicated in the year 360, originally as a Greek Patriarchal cathedral, then converted to a Roman Catholic cathedral, then a mosque, and now a museum. This stunning structure, known for it's massive dome (shown at the top of this image) was said to change the history of architecture. Also consider this jaw-dropping fact: this structure was the largest enclosed space in the world for over 1,000 years. First in a sequence... enjoy.
