Notes Still have a lot to learn but am getting there thanks to the help of folk on this forum, I am now experimenting with more than 3 brackets and so far it seems to be working.
This picture was taken on a smashing morning near Great Gaddesden in the Hertfordshire countryside, I had spent 20 minutes taking photos of a tree on the hill but on the way down took a couple of shots of this scene, as it happens the 20 minute tree shots did "not" work. This quick picture I took on the way down did, the last minute shots seem to be the surprising ones.

Excellent Work David. I see the slightest amount of halo on a couple of trees but not enough to deduct given that bright sun which is Great without flares. Could be a Wallhanger....it's that good. FaveD!

Perhaps you should try the exposure: -2,-1,0,+1,+2 or -4,-2,0,+2,+4
