Found a sunbleached forest, laying on its side, at almost the furthest North you can be in the continental U.S. The fog was thick, and the overall effect was creepy. Loved the textures of the logs, though!

An image with great potential! The horizon seems off and it looks like you have some dust on you sensor. This would make a good B&W.

It was difficult to line up the horizon, because the mist had rolled in, and was transparent to different depths. No dust on the sensor as far as I can tell ... I'm actually standing in fairly dense mist while taking the picture, and the HDR process pick

picked up the mist, making it grainy. Any hints on how to smooth it without losing wood grain texture would be appreciated! Messed with it a lot.

Ah, I see the dust boxes now. They're not present in other images ... likely they are moving birds that Photomatix did not completely remove. I'll check. Thanks!

And ... they are dust. Wonderful eye, and thanks much! It's supposed to auto-clean the sensor ... I'll look into cleaning manually before my next trip.
