This was one of the activities that we did this weekend. We shot clay pigeons with shotguns. Single RAW and made 4 EV's from +2 to -2 It took me a few times to catch the shell being ejected from the gun. I like the smoke as well.

Nice shot but to be honest I´m not sure about the benefits of making 4 EVs and processing it in Photomatix.

Trust me Florian.... it helps tremendously. With out the lighter EV's the shadows would have zero details. Thus the benefit of shooting in RAW and the benefit of the lighter EV's

True for some areas like the gun and the shell but the result on the man´s shirt is not optimal in my opinion. I wouldn´t mind dark areas there instead of some noise.
