My favorite lava tube. Located in the volcanic area of the Central Cascade mountains of Oregon- near a little town called Sisters.
This was my first trip to this cave. I took my 4-year-old with me as a
"big adventure" with dad. My son was only interested in exploring the cave so I literally had a couple minutes to compose this shot and take all the exposures. My lens was not nearly wide enough to capture this, so I did a vertical pano. 11 shots were needed for each image. So- 22 shots in all. The light is 100% natural- coming from three openings in the top called hornitos.
I'm sure to get comments that "blown" areas are visible. I would be interested in hearing solutions to this. My raw files captured plenty of data, but reducing the highlight values gives an unnatural appearance.
